Devils' Keith Kinkaid helps Team USA reach World Championship semis

Devils goalie Keith Kinkaid made 15 saves on 17 shots to help Team USA earn a 3-2 regulation win over the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals of the IIHF World Championships on Thursday in Herning, Denmark.

Chicago Blackhawks forward and United States captain Patrick Kane scored a pair of goals, including the tie-breaking winner in the third period, to pace the offense.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson also scored for Team USA.

Devils forward Blake Coleman and defenseman Will Butcher were both held scoreless. Forward Brian Gibbons was a healthy scratch for the first time in eight tournament games.

Kinkaid, who has now started seven of the eight games for Team USA at the World Championships, will likely get the call in net again in the semifinals on Saturday. Team USA will play with winner of Sweden and Latvia's quarterfinal matchup on Thursday. Sweden won Group A in pool play, while Latvia finished fourth in Group B.
