Joey Anderson skated with the Devils for the first time on Monday after signing his entry level contract on Sunday.
The 19-year-old, who just finished his sophomore season at Minnesota-Duluth by winning the NCAA title, won't play in Game 3 of the Devils' playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday at Prudential Center, but he could be a "black ace" for the team in a playoff game down the line.
But for now, Anderson is just excited to have the chance to join the Devils in the postseason.
"Just to take it all in and be around the guys and really experience playoff hockey right now," Anderson said. "Kind of see the day-to-day life of what guys are going through right now, and use it as a learning experience for next year."
MoJo returning for Game 3
Anderson felt comfortable in his first skate with the team, which came nine days after he won the NCAA title in what turned out to be his final collegiate game.
