Titans' Walker would welcome Dez 'with open arms'

Tight end Delanie Walker said he would have no qualms about welcoming fellow three-time Pro Bowl selection Dez Bryant to the Tennessee Titans.

"We've got some good, premier receivers on our team, Corey Davis (and) Rishard Matthews," the 33-year-old Walker said Saturday, via the Dallas Morning News. "It's another element if they (were) to bring him to the team. If he can help us out, gladly I would welcome him with open arms."

Walker said he believes there's more in the tank of the 29-year-old Bryant, who was released on April 13 after spending eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

"I see him in my type of situation, you know, an older vet guy. And I'm able to play at a high level, so I'm still sure he's able to play at a high level," said Walker, who made 74 catches for 807 yards with three touchdowns in 2017. Walker was awarded Offensive Most Valuable Player honors in this year's Pro Bowl after catching two touchdown passes.

"People have got to remember, it's football," Walker said. "Some years you're going to have bad years, some years you're going to have good years. And, you know, they've got to look at the better years he had than him having one bad year."

It's open to debate if Bryant has had "one bad year" or more while holding the distinction of being a team's No. 1 wide receiver.
