Defensive end Melvin Ingram is setting the bar high for the Los Angeles Chargers this season.
How high? Well, Ingram said he envisions the Chargers winning the Super Bowl.
That's a rather lofty claim considering the team saw its playoff drought extend to four years following its 9-7 mark in 2017. Furthermore, the Chargers have only been to the Super Bowl on one occasion, and that result wasn't pretty.
"We (haven't) been to the playoffs for a while," the 29-year-old Ingram told reporters earlier this week. "I think it's going to be crazy. This Super Bowl we're going to win; we're ready. We're grinding. We're just going to keep grinding."
"... That's what our main objective goal is, to win a Super Bowl. Keep fighting. Keep playing. Keep grinding. No matter what. That's the goal: We've got to bring a Super Bowl to the city."
