There's not a lot happening around the National Football League right now, which means it's a perfect time for those who participate in fantasy football leagues to use this time to their advantage.
Basically, it's a great time to do a little research.
If you're the kind of person who waits until right before your league begins to do your research, there are plenty of people who would gladly accept you into their leagues.
For everyone else, there's a lot of Kansas City Chiefs-related info out there right now to help you begin your draft planning.
It makes sense, too. The Chiefs boasted three skill position players who all finished in the Top 5 in fantasy scoring in their respective positions last year.
Running back Kareem Hunt, who led the league with 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, and who also added 455 yards receiving and three touchdowns through the air as well, finished as the No. 3 fantasy running back last year.
Receiver Tyreek Hill, who finished with 1,183 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, and who also brought home one punt return for a touchdown, finished as the No. 4 fantasy receiver last year.
And finally, tight end Travis Kelce, who finished with 1,038 yards and eight touchdowns, finished as the No. 2 fantasy tight end in the league last year.
So, with all three of those guys and the offseason addition of free agent Sammy Watkins, who finished as the No. 32 fantasy receiver last year, and who along with Hill, was one of only six receivers in the league to average at least 15.2 yards per reception and have at least seven touchdowns last season, there's reason to feel good about what's surrounding second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
That's probably a big reason that Mahomes is being mentioned by most of the top fantasy experts as a guy to watch in 2018.
Adam Rank of NFL.com listed his 11 fantasy sleepers for 2018,and Mahomes was the first player listed.
Here's what Rank had to say:
