Browns' Josh Gordon: 'We have the best receiving corps in the league already'
Cleveland Plain Dealer | 2 weeks ago

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Hot on the heels of Jarvis Landry saying he's the best receiver the NFL, Josh Gordon has declared the whole corps tops in the league.

"I think we're the best receiving corps in the league, in my opinion, already just based off of talent alone,'' Gordon said Tuesday on the first day of Browns mandatory minicamp. "So, you put in the playbook and some guys that are hungry enough to go do it, and hopefully, we go out there and show and prove that. That's just my opinion, but we're not short on talent at the wide receiver position at all."

He got no argument from Landry.

"He ain't lyin,'" the three-time Pro Bowler said when asked about Gordon's statement.

Asked to elaborate, Landry said it was the "things that Josh can do, that Corey (Coleman) can do, and you've got a young cat coming up as well, (Antonio) Callaway, who's really showing a lot of flashes, obviously myself and I think the capability of what we all can do is endless. We can only, obviously, beat ourselves at this point."

Gordon, participating in his first offseason program since 2014, plans to be a big reason for the unit's success.

"More than anything, I really just want to win," he said. "Whatever it takes for me to get some wins and do my part where I leave no doubt, no question in anybody's mind that Josh did everything he could do to try and get us a win or get us a win, then I can walk away with whatever the stat line is. More than anything, I'd rather be a winner.''

Landry has already declared himself the premier receiver on the No. 1 corps.

"I consider myself the best,'' he said after the first Browns OTA open to the media on May 23. "I consider myself the most complete receiver. If you turn on the film, I do everything -- I block, I play inside, I play outside and I come out of the backfield. My value is that much more to the team and to the offense. I consider myself the best receiver in the NFL."
