Would it have made more sense to move Adrián Beltré before the season (and the injuries) began?
Dallas Morning News | 4 days ago

Kevin Sherrington, sports columnist for SportsDayDFW.com and The Dallas Morning News, answered your questions about the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and local college sports in a live chat at recently. Here are some highlights:

Do you think this season will make or break Dak's chances of getting a big contract with the Cowboys?

Sherrington : Depends on how the team does, not just Dak. If they're not hurt by major injuries or suspensions, I think the Cowboys will do at least reasonably well. By that, I mean at least another 9-7. He's going to be fine. You have to remember that these contracts are not always driven by your rank in the league. It's a question of timing. Quarterbacks are already getting big deals, and he'll fall in line with that.

Conversely, do you think Dak will consider heading elsewhere if he has his best season yet?

Sherrington: Can't imagine that. The Cowboys like him, and he likes it here. My prediction is that he's the Cowboys' QB for at least another four or five years, barring injury.

Are the Rangers a shoo-in to finish in the cellar of the AL West?

Sherrington: I'd say they're certainly contenders, and you should brace yourself for it. The injuries, on top of the poor rotation, have just been too much to overcome.

Is Beltre's trade stock down? Would it have made more sense to move him before the season (and these injuries) began?
